Once or twice a month I get a frantic phone call or email from someone who has been scammed.

Sometimes those adorable wrinkly faces turn people's mind to mush and they make the horrible mistake of sending money to people for the deal of a lifetime on a new bully baby.

There are so many scammers out there that K-9 stud.com has several pages dedicated to stopping these scammers. Visit www.k9stud.com/scammers.aspx and do your homework.

There are no $300 bulldogs and no one is going to send you one for free if you just pay for the shipping.

THERE ARE NO MISSONARIES IN AFRICA THAT TOOK THEIR BULLDOGS WITH THEM AND WANT TO SHIP THEM BACK. SISTER SO-N-SO AND FATHER SO-N-SO DO NOT EXIST!

Scammer's emails will have extremely proper or sometimes broken english, but not always, scams since the first of the year are so elaborate that it is sometimes hard to tell what is real and what is not. Puppies must have a state or international health certifcate issued to shipped (ground or air), so a veternarian must be involved to issue this. If you cannot personally speak to this person vet's office...huge red flag.

"You're lucky to have mailed at this time because the puppy has just been placed on adoption by one of my customers, who went on a Missionary transfer with the West African Missionaries, West Africa .He is giving the pup up for adoption for $300 because he cant take good care of the pup due to his busy and tight schedules at church and at his missionary work. All he wants is someone that's homely and a caring person to adopt this young and lovely "human best friend." He will give the Puppy to you if you promise to take good care of the puppy. He needs a loving and caring home for his puppy because he really wants the puppy to go to a good home. If you are willing to take the puppy contact the Reverend (Reverend Paul Dante) at revpaul.dante@yahoo.com

Willybulldog.com is a scam. It looks for real, but it's not.

IT IS NOW ILLEGAL TO IMPORT PUPPIES FOR RESALE AT LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OF AGE!

In late May 2008, as part of the Food, Conservation and Energy Act of 2008, Congress passed an amendment to the Animal Welfare Act that makes it illegal to import puppies for resale if the puppies are less than 6 months old.

It makes NO difference: whether the importer brings the puppy here and ships you the puppy from a U.S. address, or whether the importer has the exporter ship the puppy directly to you from Europe. IT IS STILL ILLEGAL!

In an attempt to deceive buyers some of the importers are now saying that they are not importing, that they are just facilitating purchases from sellers abroad. NONSENSE. If someone in the U.S. is collecting money and arranging for you to get a puppy shipped to you from outside the U.S. that is less than 6 months old, that person is the importer of the puppy and the transaction IS ILLEGAL.

DO NOT be a party to helping puppy sellers violate the law.

DO NOT buy imported puppies under any circumstances.

There is a good reason why the law was passed: the reason is that many of the imported puppies are sick and/or have serious genetic defects that can cost you thousands of dollars in veterinarian charges. The importers have caused many puppy deaths and untold heartache to hundreds of unsuspecting buyers.

DO NOT be the next victim.

DO NOT fall for the story that imported puppies are better than domestically bred puppies. The truth is that there are good breeders here and there are good breeders in Europe. However, good breeders do NOT wholesale puppies to importers in other countries. The importers are buying puppies from abroad for only one reason: they can buy the puppies cheaply from low cost countries and resell them here at substantial profits to unwary buyers.
